Update: Looks like I could have simply avoided most of the mess using 10. Kh2

Fell for Scholar's mate

This was an interesting opening. White followed with 2. d4 something that looks like a Scotch game but without the knights. When 5 Bc4 happened, I realised I was in deep trouble. But couldn't recover from there.

1. e4 e5 2. d4 exd4 3. Qxd4 Nc6 4. Qd5 Be7 5. Bc4 Nh6 6. Bxh6 {I resigned} 1-0

Update: Later I realised that I could simply have done a king side castle. I would be down a knight tough. But not as bad as I visualised it to be.

Lost as white

This time I played white against a stronger player.

He played a new opening that I was not familiar with.
Update: I've learnt that this is called 'Pirc defence'.

Interesting steps.

13. c4 was a blunder. I did see my Bishop would go out of action if my opponent takes my knight. Still I choose to do it because I couldn't come up with any other moves.
26. Nf3 was another blunder. I didn't see the possibility of ..Bh6. It was obvious.
27. I just gave up and made another blunder. Resigned.

An easy game - Nepolean opening

This opponent was clearly weaker than me. I was playing black.

Interesting plays.

16. Nxd4 was a blunder offering me a fork.

22. ..Be6 was obvious move for discovered attack on queen which my opponent missed. I was hoping for rook in next move. But my opponent offered me his queen.

28. As crafty pointed out, I missed a chance to checkmate

Got checkmated in a Ruy lopez game

This is my first game for the blog. I was playing black.

I was playing in FICS. I got checkmated in a standard Ruy Lopez opening.

1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Nf6 4. d3 h6 5. Nc3 d6 6. h3 Bd7 7. O-O Be7 8. Nh2 O-O 9. Ne2 a6 10. Bxc6 Bxc6 11. f4 exf4 12. Nxf4 d5 13. e5 Nd7 14. d4 Bg5 15. c3 b5 16. b3 Bb7 17. Qf3 c6 18. Ba3 Re8 19. Bd6 f6 20. Nh5 fxe5 21. Qf7+ Kh7 22. Qxg7# 1-0

Interesting plays.

8. Nh2 -> This guy choose to limit his knight to to a corner.
11. f4 -> He choose to attack the e pawn using his f pawn. I've seen attacks only from d pawn.
20. ..fxe5 -> I was stupid to invite the queen in for an attack which resulted in a check mate.
